In the May prior to the upcoming school year, every student auditions for one of two concert groups - Concert Band or Wind Ensemble. Incoming Freshmen are invited and welcome to audition for Wind Ensemble! The goals of Wind Ensemble include building musicianship, fundamental skills, and performance techniques. The selection of music will be varied throughout the year. Wind Ensemble presents several formal concerts each year in addition to the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Large Group Adjudicated Event. Auditions for Orchestra Winds take place early fall & rehearse on Mondays and Thursdays during 7th period at the conclusion of Marching Season.

Ensemble Expectations: · Be where you need to be, with what you need, when you need to be there! · Downbeat is given at 1:30 each day – We begin as a group. · Respect one another by listening to and supporting one another. · Be willing to take chances. Music doesn’t happen in a vacuum – Be ready to voice your opinions (& defend them, if you need to!)
