James (Jimmy) Galloway
Jimmy Galloway is a native of Huntington, West Virginia and attended Morehead State University, where he received a Bachelor in Music Education degree. Mr. Galloway completed his Master's in Music Education degree from Miami University in 2009. Mr. Galloway began teaching at Anderson in 2003 with his current duties including assisting the "Pride of AHS Marching Band" and director of Anderson's premiere jazz ensemble, the AHS Jazz One. Mr. Galloway also directs the AHS Concert Band and Percussion class and assists with the AHS Wind Ensemble. While at Anderson, Mr. Galloway has also started a large after school chamber music program including the Anderson Brass Choir, AHS Woodwind Ensemble, Percussion Ensembles, Combo Band, and an after school Improv Class. Mr. Galloway also directs the 5th and 6th Grade Bands at Maddux and Summit Elementary schools.
In his spare time, Mr. Galloway enjoys spending time with his wife, Beth, and his two beautiful children, his daughter Rossi and son Hazen! He also enjoys caring for the other kids at home (one dog and two cats). Mr. Galloway enjoys playing trumpet in many different community groups and musicals. Being a true child of the 80’s, Mr. Galloway is an avid video game fan on his home consoles and computer, being a big fan of the Xbox 360. From May to September, you can also see Mr. Galloway on the Frisbee Golf Courses through the Greater Cincinnati Parks or on a local sidewalk near you running.
