Elementary Information PDF Print E-mail

Welcome 5th and 6th Grade Band Students and Parents! These pages are designed to give you access to information concerning all that will be happening during the year. The schedule is included as well as a list of our concerts and a list of goals that students should be working very hard on each week to try to pass each time they meet in class.

A couple of thoughts to make your child’s experience in band a successful one:

  • Try to practice at the same time every day to develop good habits – Aim for regular practice 15 minutes a day, 5 times a week.  A practice record will be used occasionally throughout the year to help students and parents keep track!
  • Keep in mind that participation in Band is a year-long commitment.  This is to ensure that your student has the long-term motivation to overcome those small (& big) challenges that await them as they learn these brand new skills!
  • If your child misses a day of band, try to find a friend who can help out.
  • Remember that private lessons are available and encouraged.
  • If you ever have questions about your instrument, please contact me as soon as possible to get your questions answered!
  • Communication will come home via e-mail, notes in student's folders and books as well as this little corner of the Anderson Bands website - Check often for new information!!!
